Research and Consultancy Services

Our business

We offer environmental reports, specialised research, and advice. Our speciality is one-off research into rural and regional environmental issues, and the interactions between policy, land use, landscape and conservation. We lead specialised academic studies. We carry out on-farm ecosystems research, and are involved in citizen science. We increasingly work with non-profit organisations, strategic initiatives and partnerships.

Specialised environmental research

We carry out unusual research contracts on:

Reaching the right audience

Different audiences need different approaches. We have written for scientists and school children, as well as for students, tourists, community councils, rural groups, decision makers, government officials, and ministers.

Our story

KENERA began life as RSK ERA Limited in 1994, specialising in rural issues and advising on conserving, enhancing and developing the rural environment. In 2007 we began focusing on carbon farming and greenhouse gas accounting for peatlands. In 2018 we changed our name to KENERA Limited. From an upland office in south west Scotland, we provide a rural perspective on rural development.

Our policy

We aim to promote sustainable development, the balance between environmental, social and economic well-being. We are committed to providing you with top quality, well written reports. We try to offer integrity, diligence and good sense.
